"Tom" checks out the yearlings from across the field

We all look forward to the holidays and wish you the best this Thanksgiving.  We have much for which to be thankful.  Some of us will be with family, others with friends, all of us with good food!  The 2010 foals are being weaned from their dams.  These young fillies and colts will have their pictures on our website soon and are almost ready to begin preschool  In fact, Jake Shoemark, our new Head of Horse Development and his wife Helen (Topp) will be joining us Dec. 1st and we are all looking forward to that!  They are already in the process of moving in  We have quite a few wonderful yearlings ready for their lifelong partners to come along.  They’ve completed all 3 stages of their schooling and are ready to start under saddle in the spring.  Videos have been added to the website.  Come by for a look  Events are being planned for 2011 — see the segment below and stay tuned.  We hope you’ll be joining us for at least one of them next year…  for now, have a great Thanksgiving!

Confident & curious, these yearlings nearly eat Tom the Turkey for lunch!

2011 EVENTS

Saturday, November 20th, 2010

Yes, we will be hosting clinics, seminars and lectures this coming year.  Due to a planned move to our Red Bluff location we did not schedule any events for 2010 — concerned we’d have buildings taken down and no covered arena or barns in place.  Delays happen and we’re still in Orland with plenty of great facilites and lots of room for visitors.  We can’t wait another minute so we’re going ahead with the 2011 scheduling!!!  Be flexible though as we may change the location from the Orland ranch to the Red Bluff one (just 30 miles up I-5) midway through the year.  Stay tuned to our website on the EVENTS page for further details.  We have some exciting guest instructors, health therapies and playdays in the works.

WELCOME JEANIE SHEPHERD!

Saturday, November 20th, 2010

Two-Star Parelli Professional, Jeanie Shepherd, has recently joined our team.  She will be helping to develop and foal out broodmares, assisting in the breeding and stallion collection, as well as being involved in the early learning of our newborn foals.  Jeanie has managed several breeding stallions in the past and raised quite a few foals over the years.  As you can see, she is already in the thick of things!

WASHINGTON IS KNOWN FOR GREAT APPLES & TIMMY TAKES A BITE!

Parelli Professional Bill Avery of Lacenter, WA saw AR CASH N CHEX at the Parelli Performance Summit in September and decided then and there he couldn’t live without him!  Timmy has been an eye catcher at every demonstration he’s participated in including Redmond, Fresno and Pagosa Springs.  He was nicknamed “Tiny Tim” as a baby (apropos in light of the coming holiday season!) because of his delicate size and big presence.  Bill came down to the ranch to pick up his new yearling in the middle of a wild and wooly, rain and wind storm - but as expected Timmy loaded up like a champ!  Preschool trailer loading skills have practical applications in everyday life.  Bill was kind enough to transport home a weanling named AR COLONELS VOLLEY for Jackie Hunt who lives just a few hours from him.  Congratulations to both Bill and Jackie on their new partners!
